Lamar State College Port Arthur's Ironworker NCCER course is free for those who qualify and earns NCCER Core plus Ironworker 1 and 2. Top graduates are offered a Bechtel apprenticeship on Port Arthur LNG.⁵
Lamar State College Port Arthur's Pipefitter NCCER course runs 7 weeks, weekdays 8 to 5, unpaid, for $3,500 (tuition help for those who qualify), and earns NCCER Core plus Pipefitter 1 and 2.⁶
