What the trades really get paid

Skilled trades are becoming the most valuable resource on complex jobs: the ones who get them built right and on time. Time & a Half has been created to keep that standard, by the trades, for the trades. Here's what crews say they make, next to what the companies post.

Crew ranges show once 5 people share a trade at an outfit. Until then, posted pay is all there is.

See what everybody's making. Share your own pay for one job (anonymous, takes a minute) and every number on this page opens up, for every trade and every area. Or take a free look at Thacker Pass → Punch in to share →

How the numbers work

  • Never one person's pay. A range shows once 5 people share a trade at an outfit: the middle half of what they reported, rounded to $2. Counts are shown as 5+, 10+, 25+.
  • Vouched per job. “Most vouched” means most of those reports are for a job a coworker who was there confirmed.
  • Checked when it's new. A range with no vouched reports behind it waits for a moderator the first time.
  • Posted pay is separate. It's what the company's own postings said in the last year, never mixed into what crews report.
  • No names, no handles, and nothing about anybody's union.
